Former GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney has come out in full force for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, donating the maximum amount allowed by law to his re-election campaign, according to a report.

The $3,800 donation, reported by Politico, marks a chasm between Mr. Romney and his former campaign aides, who were outraged at Mr. Christie’s public embrace of President Obama after Superstorm Sandy and before November’s presidential election.

Rep. Eric Cantor, Virginia Republican, has also come out in support of Mr. Christie, agreeing to attend a campaign fundraiser Thursday evening, Politico reported.

The Republican endorsements come as the Conservative Political Action Conference has opted against inviting Mr. Christie to speak at next month’s events.
