Robin the Boy Wonder is finally getting the boot.

DC Comics is killing off the Batman sidekick in issue No. 8 of the “Batman Incorporated” series, the New York Post reports.

“He saves the world. He does his job as Robin,” writer Grant Morrison said. “He dies an absolute hero.”

Robin — that is, Damian Wayne, the 10-year-old illegitimate son of billionaire Bruce Wayne — is killed fighting a cloned “brother,” the Post reports. Batman tries to save him, but is too late.

Mr. Morrison said Robin’s death raises issues related to the family, the Post reports.

“It’s all about the family and the family going to hell,” he said. “The two adults in the story are both culpable. The kid’s the good guy.”
