Sir Richard Branson is the latest in high-profile billionaires to pledge half of his Virgin Group fortune to charity.

Mr. Branson has added his name to the Giving Pledge campaign set up by U.S. investor Warren Buffett and Microsoft founder Bill Gates, The Daily Mail reports.

In their pledge letter, the Virgin founder and his wife, Joan, expressed their wishes for “a healthy, equitable and peaceful world for future generations to enjoy.”

The Giving Pledge campaign was originally set up by Mr. Gates and and Mr. Buffett and within months more than 30 U.S. billionaires joined the initiative.

The campaign does not collect money, but rather asks for a moral commitment to give a portion of their wealth to a good cause, according to The Mail.

“As and when we take monies out of the Virgin Group of companies the majority of it will be invested in entrepreneurial approaches to help make a difference in the world,” the Bransons’ letter reads.

Other pledgers include Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Star Wars director George Lucas and CNN founder Ted Turner, The Mail reports.
