A quick-thinking kid upended the plot of two armed fifth-graders to lure several elementary-school classmates off-campus and then kill them, after he learned of the plan and told school officials.
The two male suspects — fifth-graders, ages 10 and 11 — attend Fort Colville Elementary School in Colville, Wash., and are now in police custody, according to CNN.
They told police they stole a semi-automatic gun, ammunition clip and 3.25-inch knife in order to kill a girl they considered rude and annoying, CNN reported.
The boys also told police of their plans to “get,” or kill, six other classmates at the school.
Specifically, the 11-year-old suspect was going to stab the girl off-campus, while the 10-year-old would frighten away responders with the handgun, CNN said.
“Yes, I just want her dead,” the younger suspect told police, according to the CNN report.

Police documents said he had brought both the gun and knife to school.
Court documents also said that the two suspects planned to lure their other six targets away from the school to an undisclosed off-campus location and then kill them, one by one, CNN reports.
