Rocking Second Amendment activist Ted Nugent’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union push for more gun control was simple and to the point: It’s “nonsense,” he said.
“Nothing [Obama] proposes or nothing he’s proposed would have stopped any of the shootings,” he said, on the House floor following Mr. Obama’s speech, according to a report in The Blaze. “None of those shooters are gonna register anything.”
Mr. Nugent also characterized Mr. Obama’s speech as a “flowery” spew of “more nonsense,” according to the report.
Mr. Obama, in his speech, had called for stronger background checks, a ban on assault weapons, and limits to ammunition magazines, and said his plan is worthy of a vote in Congress.
“Gabby Giffords deserves a vote,” Mr. Obama said, according to a Fox News report. “The families of Newtown deserve a vote. The families of Aurora deserve a vote.”
