A gunman opened fire at the New Castle County Courthouse in Delaware early Monday morning, killing two and wounding several, including at least two Capitol Police officers.
The shooter, in his late 20s to early 30s, was shot and killed at the scene, The News Journal reported.
The shooting started shortly after 8 a.m., the report continued. Investigators say the man entered the building, pulled out a gun and began shooting, according to CNN. Various news reports say the gunman’s estranged wife is among the killed, but State Police Sgt. Paul Shavak declined to confirm to CNN.
Dozens of police and emergency responders are at the scene, and the street by the courthouse has been cordoned off, according to various media reports. CNN reports agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are on the scene, also.
