American and British intelligence agents have been spying on online gamers, new documents released by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden have revealed.
The Daily Mail said United Kingdom officials did not immediately comment.
But the spy operations reportedly have been going on for years. And the most scrolled: the World of Warcraft and Second Life, the Daily Mail reported. Government spies have spent years scrolling and trolling the two game sites, as well as others, in the search for terrorists or informants, the documents said.
It wasn’t revealed what specific data was gathered or how many players’ gaming information was searched and compromised, the Daily Mail reported.
