Aron Lee Ralston, the man who survived a canyoneering accident in Utah and inspired the movie “127 Hours,” was arrested and booked in a Denver Jail Saturday night on charges of assault to minors, local media has reported.
Mr. Ralston had been canyoneering in Southeastern Utah in 2003 when he became trapped by a boulder and was forced to cut off his own right forearm to free himself, ABC 7 News reported.
The story was documented in his autobiography “Between a Rock and a Hard Place” and became the basis for the 2010 film “127 Hours,” which starred James Franco.
Mr. Ralston is due in court Monday afternoon, ABC reported.
