Heart has joined the list of bands boycotting SeaWorld because of the CNN documentary “Blackfish.”

“Heart has chosen to decline their forthcoming performance at SeaWorld on 2/9/14 due to the controversial documentary film ’Black Fish,’” the band said Sunday on Twitter.

Country singer Willie Nelson and the Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies also have canceled their shows, CNN reported.

“This is a complicated issue, and we don’t claim to understand all of it, but we don’t feel comfortable proceeding with the gig at this time,” Barenaked Ladies said last week in a Facebook post.

SeaWorld spokesman Nick Gollattscheck cited reasons other than the documentary for Mr. Nelson’s cancellation, CNN said.

The network’s “Blackfish” tells the story of SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau, who was killed by an orca in 2012.

“The film raises questions about the safety and humaneness of keeping killer whales in captivity over the past 39 years,” CNN said.
