Dennis Rodman just can’t keep out of North Korea. The former basketball star is heading back to the tightly ruled nation on Dec. 18, his third visit in recent months.
CNN said he will actually be helping to train the country’s basketball team and prepare them for their exhibition game against former NBA players that’s scheduled for January.
Mr. Rodman’s trip — sponsored by Paddy Power, an online betting company based in the United Kingdom — will be filmed by an accompanying documentary crew, said Rory Scott, a spokesman for the company.
The unknown is whether Mr. Rodman will meet up with dictator Kim Jong-un, whom he counts among his friends and has called “a very good guy,” CNN reported.
At their last meeting, at a basketball game in Pyongyang in February, Mr. Rodman reportedly told the dictator: “You have a friend for life.”
Mr. Scott said his company will release in the coming days the names of other former NBA players that Mr. Rodman drafted for the January game.
