SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. (AP) - The San Francisco Giants say some of the baseball club’s minor league players were injured in a Tuesday morning automobile collision in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The crash occurred when a team van collided with a car after pulling out of a hotel’s driveway.
Police and fire spokesmen said either three or four people affiliated with the Giants were hurt and taken to a hospital, while Giants spokeswoman Staci Slaughter says six Giants minor league players were transported.
Police Sgt. Mark Clark said none of the injuries was life-threatening.
Slaughter says Giants team trainer Dave Groeschner (gresh-NER’) is headed to the hospital to check on the players.
The Giants conducts training in Scottsdale for its minor league teams. The club’s major league team also conducts its spring training in the desert city.
