Saying they’re no longer about skin color, members of the Ku Klux Klan-tied Confederate White Knights of Rosedale, Md., are holding a recruitment drive Friday in Elkton.

The group said on its website that’s its main criteria for membership is not that a person’s skin is white — but rather than he or she simply have European heritage and an American birth right, The Wilmington Delaware News Journal reported. The group also said potential members can’t be affiliated with Jewish or Muslim faiths, and that they must be “100 percent heterosexual,” the outlet reported.

The members are gathering at the Cecil County Administration Building — and government officials are not happy, given their outreach to draw business to the locality.

“I don’t necessarily subscribe to the notion that any press is good press,” said Bonnie Grady, the president and CEO of the Cecil County Chamber of Commerce, in the Wilmington Delaware News Journal. “Cecil County is striving to be inclusive and welcoming.”

Richard Preston, imperial wizard of the group, which began two years ago, said meeting discussions will focus on illegal immigration and on President Obama.

“Barack Hussein Obama in an illegal president,” Mr. Preston said, in CecilDaily.com. “He needs to be removed from office. We also want Obamacare shut down. It’s against citizens’ rights. On top of that, we want the laws toughened on immigration. We’re flooded with illegal immigrants, and our people can’t find jobs.”
