A South Florida Walmart employee has been arrested after he shot up his coworker’s car who had just won the Employee of the Month award, police said.

Willie Mitchell has been charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle after he reportedly parked next to a coworker’s car, rolled down his window and opened fire into the other vehicle. The victim was not in the car at the time, CBS 4 Miami reported.

Broward Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Veda Coleman-Wright said the shooting stemmed from an Employee of the Month contest the victim had won.

“She was announced as the Employee of the Month, which you would think that would be something good, people would be happy for her,” Ms. Coleman-Wright told CBS 4 Miami. “But there was one employee who wasn’t happy.”

Minutes before the shots were fired, eyewitnesses told investigators that the two exchanged heated words about their workload, and Mr. Mitchell repeatedly told the victim, “I’m gonna show you,” the report said.

“Perhaps [Mr. Mitchell] wanted to be Employee of the Month, but clearly these actions that we saw in response to this, I think we see why he wasn’t chosen as Employee of the Month,” Mr. Coleman-Wright told CBS 4 Miami.

Walmart confirmed to CBS that Mr. Mitchell no longer works for the company.
