A U.S. Navy Knighthawk helicopter crashed on Monday near the Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan, injuring two of the four crewmembers aboard.

United Press International reported they weren’t seriously hurt.

The aircraft is part of the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12 from the Naval Air Facility-Atsugi, Stars and Stripes reported.

The military isn’t sure why the craft crashed, and names and ages of the injured haven’t been released. The crew sent out a distress signal just seconds before crashing into the sea, UPI reported.

The incident occurred about 10 miles outside the Yokosuka base, one Navy spokesman said to the media outlet.
