Eight people were injured when an SUV driver plowed into a Starbucks in Northern California, police said Wednesday.

The collision occurred in Folsom after the Lexis SUV driver pulled up to a parking spot and tried to position her vehicle in the space. She accidentally hit the accelerator pedal, The Associated Press reported.

Her SUV jumped the barriers and slammed into the middle of the store. Neither she nor her passenger was hurt, AP reported, but several people inside the coffee shop were — and some, seriously.

At least six were taken to a hospital for treatment, AP reported.

So far, the accident seems purely a human error. Police said in the report that the driver did not seem to be drunk or under the influence of any illegal substance, and she was not using her cellphone.
