Rescuers in northwest Nevada on Tuesday were frantically searching through bitter cold and rising snowfall for two adults and four children who went missing when they went to play in the snow.

CNN reported that James Glanton, 34, Christina MacIntee, 25, have been missing since Sunday. Mr. Glanton’s children and Ms. MacIntee’s niece and nephew — all between the ages of 3 and 10 — are missing, too.

The six were trekking the Seven Troughs mountain region and disappeared from contact, CNN reported.

With temperatures slated to dip below zero, rescue teams are anxious.

“It’s been extremely hard, probably the hardest 24 to 36 hours of my life,” said the mother of one of the children who’s gone missing, a 10-year-old girl, during an interview with Piers Morgan on CNN.

More sleet and snow are on the way, and temperatures are expected to stay in the 20s all week, CNN said.
