The post office, it’s not. Threat of rain, sleet, snow and ice have shut down all the federal government offices in the Washington, D.C., area on Tuesday.
The Office of Personnel Management announced the decision in the early morning hours.
The OPM’s website states: “Emergency and telework-ready employees required to work must follow their agencies’ policies, including written telework agreements.”
The storm is expected to dump inches of snow on the region, with cold and icy conditions remaining until the mid-afternoon. Snowfall between 1 and 2 inches per hour is expected between the morning hours of 7 and 11.
