The judge who heard the case of Casey Anthony — the now-notorious mom who was acquitted of murder charges in the death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee — has partnered with a producer with hopes to head to Hollywood. He wants his own “Judge Judy”-type show.

Belvin Perry Jr. thinks he could make a good television judge, The Daily Mail reported. Mark Itkin, an agent with the William Morris Endeavor talent agent who represents producer Jim Lichtenstein, agrees — and Mr. Itkin should know. He’s responsible for the successful launch of such ratings winners as “The Real World,” “Project Runaway” and “Hell’s Kitchen” with Gordon Ramsay.

Mr. Itkin said to the Orlando Sentinel: “The judge is a character. Judge Joe Brown, Judge Alex, Judge Mathis are all characters. They all have a sense of humor.”

Mr. Perry could make a television debut as early as next year. He’s widely known as the judge who sat on Ms. Anthony’s nationally followed murder trial — and subsequent acquittal. After the verdict, Mr. Perry appeared on the “Today” show to express his shock.
