With the mother dead and the son missing, the father of a South California girl who was abducted by the suspected murderer had this emotion-filled television message for her on Tuesday: Run.
“If you have a chance, you take it,” said Brett Anderson, to his abducted daughter Hannah, 16, on Fox News. “You run.”
Authorities issued an Amber alert for Hannah, 16, after discovering the body of their mother, Christina Anderson, in the suspect’s burned home. Police have launched a furious search for the suspect, James DiMaggio, 40, who is believed to have been a friend of the mother.
They’re also testing the remains of another body found at the burned home — those belonging to an unidentified child. Authorities believe the remains may belong to Hannah’s 8-year-old brother, Ethan.
The father spoke directly to the suspected abductor, also.
“Jim, I can’t fathom what you were thinking. The damage is done. I’m begging you to let my daughter go. You’ve taken everything else,” he said, in the broadcast statement, CNN reported. “Hannah, we all love you very much. … You’ll be found.”
