President Obama’s signature legislation, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, has stolen the joy from being a physician or hospital administrator, Dr. Ben Carson said.
On Fox News on Monday, Dr. Carson called Obamacare a killjoy — and a financial disaster.
“We’ve had three years now to see what’s in it,” he said, “and the level of enthusiasm has not gone up. In fact, it is going down as people are finding out what’s happening.”
Dr. Carson also had a message for Americans who don’t want Obamacare: Get moving and get politicos to repeal it.
“People who want Obamacare repealed have to realize they just can’t sit around and complain about it,” he said, Newsmax reported. “They have to do something about it. The people are the ultimate bosses in this society, even though the government thinks that it is.”
Voters should ultimately make their views known at the ballot box. And it’s not only patients who are rebelling against the plan, he said. Doctors are, too.

“It’s extremely bad,” Mr. Carson said, speaking about the bureaucracy of the new health care plan and the reams of new documentation that’s required as part of its implementation. “I haven’t talked to anybody who’s very happy about this, quite frankly. … They have basically taken a lot of independence away from hospitals, away from physicians, and really have taken the joy out of it.”
