At first ABC News editor Don Ennis was a man. But then he decided he was a woman. But now he thinks he’s a man again.
The confusion began in May when Mr. Ennis walked into his newsroom sporting a little black dress and a wig, and said he was transgender, poised to leave his wife. Call me Dawn, not Don, he said then, The New York Post reported.
Now, however, he said his switch was due to amnesia — and he wants to be Don once again.
“I accused my wife of playing some kind of cruel joke, dressing me up in a wig and bra and making fake IDs with the name ’Dawn’ on it. Seriously,” he said in an email to his friends and coworkers, The New York Post reported. “It because obvious this was not the case once I took off the bra — and discovered [the hormone-induced breasts]. … I thought it was 1999 … and I was sure as hell that I was a man.”
Mr. Ennis said he was writing coworkers mostly to let them know “I’m changing my name … to Don Ennis. That will be my name again, now and forever. And it appears I’m not transgender after all.”
The New York Post reported he also wrote that he was “totally, completely, unabashedly male,” and was “already using the men’s room and dressing accordingly.”
He said he’s retired his high heels, skirts and lipstick.
