The Washington Wizards’ 2013-14 schedule opens with a visit to the Detroit Pistons on Oct. 30, the team announced Tuesday.

The Wizards’ home opener at Verizon Center will come two days later against Philadelphia, part of a 41-game home slate that includes 22 weekend dates (Friday-Sunday).

The defending NBA champion Miami Heat will pay two visits to Verizon Center, first on Jan. 15 and then April 14 in the regular-season home finale. Washington will close out the season April 16 at the Boston Celtics.

The Wizards will host D.C. native Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder once, on Feb. 1, and will be at home for New Year’s Day (Dallas) and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Philadelphia).
