CVS announced on its Facebook page Friday that it will shorten the ExtraCare portion of its receipts by roughly 25 percent after an Internet meme mocking the pharmacy chain went viral.

“As part of our commitment to find ways to provide you with even more value, we’ve gone LONG on savings,” the statement said. “And, as you’ve noticed, our receipts have gotten lengthier too. Over the past few days we’ve been listening to you (and we’ve also seen the very creative uses for your receipts)! You asked for ALL the savings and LESS paper. So, we’ve found a way to reduce the size of the ExtraCare portion of your receipts by 25% while still providing you all the coupons and rewards.”

Social media users began posting photos of people using CVS receipts in all sorts of creative ways.

“*goes to CVS* *buys gum* *collects receipt* BOOM! 2 month supply of toilet paper!” one Twitter user wrote.

“So @smashleychavez buys one thing of honey, comes out with a receipt almost the size of her. CLASSIC CVS,” another person posted.

CVS told DailyFinance.com earlier this month that the redemption of ExtraCare rewards is at an all-time high.
