James DiMaggio’s sister: ‘Where’s the proof’ my brother killed Hannah Anderson’s family?

The sister of James DiMaggio — the California man who was fatally shot by police after abducting his friend’s 16-year-old daughter, Hannah Anderson — wants police to show concrete evidence that her brother actually killed the girl’s mother and 8-year-old brother and burned their bodies.

Lora Robinson said she couldn’t explain her brother’s role in the crimes, but that she was nonetheless “extremely disappointed” with the investigation being conducted by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, NBC reported.

“They should come back to us and explain what happened,” she said, in NBC. “They could come forward with evidence — evidence and facts instead of verbally coming out and saying he did it. Where’s the proof?”

Ms. Robinson also said the family was dropping its bid for authorities to take DNA samples from Hannah and her now-dead brother, Ethan, to determine if Mr. DiMaggio was the biological father. The family made the request a week or so ago — and Anderson family members quickly reacted, saying Mr. DiMaggio didn’t even meet the family until mom Christina was six months pregnant with Hannah.

Ms. Robinson said on Tuesday that the family requested the DNA samples because of rumors, but now a test didn’t seem necessary.

DiMaggio, 40, was killed in the wilderness of Idaho on Aug. 10. The remains of Hannah’s mother and brother were found in his burned-down home.

Ms. Robinson also said she wanted investigators to return to the family several items they were holding, including letters they apparently found in Mr. DiMaggio’s home that were labeled, “letters from Hannah.”
