British Prime Minister David Cameron is calling for a special session of Parliament to discuss the nation’s possible involvement in a military response to the Syria government’s suspected use of chemical weapons.
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Mr. Cameron is recalling Parliament on Thursday during its summer recess.
Lawmakers in Britain, much like in the U.S., have urged Mr. Cameron to work with Parliament before getting involved in a response against Syria.
Mr. Cameron on Tuesday called the alleged use of chemical weapons “absolutely abhorrent” and said Britain was considering a “proportionate response.”
A spokesman for Mr. Cameron also said that “it’s reasonable to assume our forces are making contingency plans.”
