Two powerful blasts tore across the city of Tripoli on Friday, killing dozens of Lebanese and injuring an estimated 500.
The bombs exploded outside a couple of mosques, in congested neighborhoods, CNN reported.
At least 29 are confirmed dead, but the count is expected to rise. Hundreds are injured by the blasts, and in the hail of gunfire that rang after the detonations, CNN reported.
The motive of the attacks is still not known. But Lebanon’s National New Agency said the bombs seemed to target mosques that are run by imams who are affiliated with Syrian rebel fighters.
