A ninth woman has come forward to accuse San Diego Mayor Bob Filner of sexual harassment.

Emily Gilbert told Fox 5 San Diego that Mr. Filner harassed her during a fundraiser in December. Miss Gilbert said had been hired to sing at the event, she said.

“He grabbed me a little too tight, then proceeded to slide his hand down my arm and then did a little grab on my derriere,” she said. “I didn’t want to make a scene when there were kids around.”

She said she tried to laugh it off, but was actually embarrassed. Her husband, Jason, said he didn’t feel like he could take action.

“What was I going to do, he’s the mayor,” he said.

Mr. Filner, a 70-year-old Democrat elected to office in November, is resisting calls to step down from his office, despite the recent harassment accusations. He faces a lawsuit, but said he will seek get therapy for his issues, beginning Monday.
