President Obama returned to the White House late Sunday following a weeklong family getaway to Martha’s Vineyard — but not before squeezing in one last round of golf.
That brings to six the number he was able to play during his island vacation, CBS reported. The last round included World Bank President Jim Kim, N.Y. attorney and presidential fundraiser Eunu Chun and White House aide Mike Brush, CBS reported. They played at Vineyard Golf Club in Edgartown.
Mr. Obama spent most of the past nine days away from the view of the public. He emerged from vacation once to make a public statement denouncing the escalating violence in Egypt.
Among issues Mr. Obama is due to confront on Monday: talks with Republicans about a new budget by Sept. 30 and a nomination to the Federal Reserve chairman slot. Spending talks with the GOP are expected to be contentious, as Democrats seek new borrowing limits and Republicans continue to face pressure from constituents, including tea party activists, to curb spending.
