Detroit police mistakenly emailed the height, weight and bra sizes of the department’s female officers when they were notified that their bullet proof vests were ready for pickup, local media reported.
“On the third page, the females were listed. Unfortunately and embarrassingly, the cup sizes of the females were listed on that third page, and it was really just a clerical error,” said Assistant Chief James White, according to My Fox Detroit.
Police sources told the station that about three weeks ago, Commander Dwayne Love forwarded the email to the commanders, who then forwarded it to the supervisors, who then forwarded it to the officers.
Mr. White said the commander didn’t know the revealing information was included in the attachment.
“Conscientious, very hard working command officer. However, it’s an embarrassing situation, and I’m going to be addressing the issue formally with him over the next couple weeks,” Mr. White said. “Once we complete our investigation, there will be corrective action.”
Female officers are filing two grievances against the department and one complaint with EOC, because they say they’ve faced ridicule by their male colleagues, My Fox reported.
Mr. White said on Thursday that they plan to meet with the female officers impacted by the incident.
