Forget 101 Dalmatians. At least 222 golden retrievers were on hand for the breed’s recent Club of Scotland gathering at their ancestral Guisachan House home.
The gathering was a reunion of sorts to bring the breed back to the Highlands house where they made their DNA start, United Press International reported. The home was owned in the mid-1800s by a gentleman named Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks — later known as Lord Tweedmouth.
The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland hosted the event, which also included a dog show — resulting in hundreds of adorable photos.
The club was founded in 1946 to “encourage the breeding and type of the Golden Retriever most suitable for work” and, later, to “encourage the type as laid down in the Breed Standards,” the group said on its website.
