Six people are dead after authorities pursing a stolen truck say the driver smashed into several vehicles at an intersection in South Texas.

CBS reported Alton Police were chasing the truck through the streets of Mission on Monday afternoon, when the driver of the stolen vehicle lost control and hit three other cars. Texas Department of Public Safety officials said the identities of those killed have not been released. But several others were injured, and they’ve been transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The driver of the stolen truck was able to escape the scene, but was later arrested. He’s not yet been identified, either, CBS reported. He was treated at a local hospital and taken into police custory.

Authorities are investigating the incidents leading up to the chase and crash.
