According to a blog post by the National Republican Congressional Committee, zero people showed up for an Organizing for Action (OFA) climate change rally today in Washington, D.C., and all mentions of the event have been scrubbed.
American Commitment President Phil Kerpen suggested perhaps it was the weather.
“ZERO PEOPLE at the OFA rally at the Georgetown Waterfront this morning. OMG CLIMATE CHANGE IS SUPER IMPORTANT … unless it rains,” he tweeted to his 10,000 followers.
Mr. Kerpen also noticed that after he tweeted a link to the event’s page on OFA’s website, the event information was completely scrubbed and there was no mention of a reschedule: “The URL you clicked references an event that does not exist.”
Mr. Kerpen was able to take a screenshot of the event.
The “Climate Change Day of Action Rally” was, at one point, set for Tuesday, Aug. 13 at 8:00 a.m. at the Georgetown Waterfront.
