Apparently President Obama is planning to ease back to work slowly after his eight-day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard ends Sunday.
The president’s press office announced Tuesday that Mr. Obama will host the 1972 Super Bowl champion Miami Dolphins at the White House on Aug. 20, his second day back at work in Washington.
It’s now routine for presidents to invite sports champions to the White House, but this particular event will take place some 41 years after the Dolphins’ championship. Why?
The Dolphins went undefeated in 1972, still the only Super Bowl champion to do so, and the White House said it will be “the first White House ceremony honoring their historic season.”
