San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is officially banned from at least four Hooters locations in the city, with the restaurants prominently displaying anti-Filner posters originally created by conservative radio host Glenn Beck, The Blaze reported.
“This establishment recognizes that we all have political differences and we serve people from all walks of life,” the sign reads. “We also believe it is imperative for people to have standards. The mayor of San Diego will not be served in this establishment. We believe women should be treated with respect.”
Mr. Beck created the sign, urging residents not to put up with the mayor’s abhorrent behavior.
“I think this sign should be in every establishment in San Diego,” he said last week.
Melissa Fry, director of marketing for HootWinc, told Slate that the signs went up at four San Diego locations.
“It’s not a political move for us in any way, shape, or form. We’re strictly taking a stand for the fair treatment of women. At our franchise alone, we employ 1100 beautiful, talented women,” she said.

Mr. Filner has apologized for what he says was inappropriate behavior and acknowledged disrespecting and intimidating women. More than a dozen women have spoken out alleging sexual harassment by the mayor. He has made no indication of resigning despite numerous pleas.
