An Internet troll who was the bane of eBay for years because he’d outbid everybody then refuse to pay was finally busted by private investigators who revealed his true identity: A Michigan loner with a serious weight problem.

Charles “Chuck” Fitch, from Canton, Mich., is believed to be the masked man who trolled eBay under the name Ebayisajoke and harassed auction buyers, sellers and the tied-in ecommerce website, PayPal, the Daily Mail reported. He was revealed by a television reporter from Detroit who hired a private investigator to find out who had been targeting customers and trying to put eBay sellers out of business for the past few years.

Mr. Fitch lives in an apartment and is an obese bachelor, the Daily Mail reported.

As Ebayisajoke, the man wears a ghoul-like Guy Fawkes mask and operates his own YouTube channel dedicated to exposing alleged eBay crimes and injustices, the Daily Mail reported. He also tries to convince eBay users to use other auction sites.

It’s thought that Ebayisajoke started his attacks on eBay after the site shut down his access, the Daily Mail reported.

Television reporter Rob Wolchek tracked him down, and said “he has allegedly been a suspect in many trolling cases in many forums for the last few years. I think he has been doing this for years and years and years,” the Daily Mail reported.

Mr. Wolchek confronted him after investigators watched him entering and exiting his apartment for several days.

The Daily Mail said the FBI was alerted about the matter.
