Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones took to Twitter on Sunday after a fan reportedly chucked a banana at him in San Francisco.
Mr. Jones, who is black, said the banana was thrown towards him in the bottom of the ninth inning, just minutes after he hit a three-run home run against the Giants, the New York Post reported.
“I want to thank whatever [expletive] threw that banana towards my direction in CF in the last inning. Way to show ur class u jackass,” he said to his 131,000 followers, gaining almost 4,000 retweets.
The Giants said they hadn’t heard about the incident but will review AT&T Park security tapes on Monday, the Post reported.
