Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is reaching out to women voters with his first television campaign ad for governor, starring his wife, Teiro.

“My husband Ken has spent his life standing up for the vulnerable and those in need,” she said in the ad, as quoted by Politico. “He’s worked the night shift at a homeless shelter, spent his college days leading efforts to prevent sexual assaults and represented those suffering from mental illness. As attorney general, Ken fought to find and prosecute child predators and human traffickers.”

Democrats have been trying to portray Mr. Cuccinelli as insensitive on social issues, like abortion, and out-of-touch with Virginia’s majority.

The ad will first air on Monday, Politico reported.
