The 19-year-old surviving suspect in the Boston bombings has been transferred from the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center to a facility on Fort Devens in Massachusetts.
The U.S. Marshals Service said he’s now at the Bureau of Prisons’ Federal Medical Center Devens, CNN reported.
The agency’s official statement, as quoted by Fox News: “The U.S. Marshals Service confirms that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been transported … and is now confined at the Bureau of Prisons facility.”
Fort Devens is about 39 miles west of Boston.
The Federal Medical Center is an administrative building, Fox News reported. It treats and holds male law offenders with specialized or long-term medical needs. Bureau of Prisons’ officials say it’s equipped to house offenders who are considered high-risk security inmates.
Tsarnaev is recovering from a gunshot injury to his head and neck, and is now considered in fair condition.
