Sheer madness: Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s mother insists paint, not blood covered Boston street after blast

The mother of the two Boston Marathon bombing suspects said the blood on Boylston Street wasn’t really blood: It was paint.

The claim, made during an interview with CNN, was Zubeidat Tsarnaev’s latest push to show her sons – killed Tamerlan, 26, and recovering Dzhokhar, 19 – were innocent in the April 15 terrorist attacks, and framed for their Muslim beliefs.

She’s now ratcheted up that line of argument, insisting that the bombing itself was fake.

“Everybody’s talking about it,” she said, to CNN, from her home in Dagestan. “This is a show, that’s what I want to know. That’s what I want to understand.”

The CNN reporter then asked if she had seen the pictures of the bombings and the sufferings of the three killed and more than 200 seriously injured.

“I haven’t,” she answered, CNN reported. But she then said that the red on the street was not blood, but rather paint, CNN reported.

Still, she feels sorry for the victims, she said.

“I really feel sorry for all of them,” Ms. Tsarnaev said, CNN reported. “Really feel sorry for all of them.”
