INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Former Indianapolis 500 winner Eddie Cheever will expand his role as analyst for all six of ABC’s IndyCar races this season.
Cheever has been an ESPN analyst since 2008 but primarily worked only the Indianapolis 500. He’ll join lap-by-lap announcer Marty Reid and analyst Scott Goodyear for all six IndyCar Series races on ABC.
Also, ESPN SportsCenter anchor Lindsay Czarniak has been selected host for Indianapolis 500 telecast. ABC is televising the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” for the 49th consecutive year, and Czarniak will be the first woman to host the telecast.
ESPN’s IndyCar crew also includes pit reporters Rick DeBruhl, Jamie Little and Vince Welch. Dr. Jerry Punch is a fourth pit reporter during the Indianapolis 500.
