Spanish authorities arrested two suspected al Qaeda members who have profiles that are similar to Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the nation’s Interior Ministry said.
The two are suspected of membership in al Qaeda’s North African branch, the Islamic Maghreb, The Associated Press reported. One, an Algerian, was arrested in the city of Zaragoza and the other, a Moroccan, was arrested in Murcia, AP reported. The cities are located in the northeastern and southeastern locations of Spain.
The Islamic Maghreb operates out of northwest Africa.
Ministry officials only said the suspects were similar to the Boston bombing suspects, but didn’t explain further, AP reported.
