The surviving suspect in the Boston bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, is awake and answering law enforcement questions by writing, one police official confirmed.
The police officer, unnamed because he’s not authorized to speak to the press, told USA Today that the suspect has a neck wound that’s suspected of being self-inflicted. The officer did not provide further details about what Mr. Tsarnaev has written.
ABC reported that Mr. Tsarnaev is only able to respond to questions in a sporadic manner.
Mr. Tsarnaev, 19, is under constant guard while being treated at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. The latest reports are that he’s in serious but stable condition, and his injuries are in the neck and throat areas, ABC reported.
