Local police said five people were killed late Sunday evening in a hail of gunfire at an apartment complex located just south of Seattle.
Police responding to the scene found two men on the ground in the parking lot, while gunfire rang in the background, The Associated Press reported.
“When we arrived, there was a lot of gunfire already being fired,” said Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock, in the AP.
One of the men reportedly reached for a gun as police tried to help the two men on the ground, AP said. Police then shot and killed him, AP reported.
The ages and identities of the others killed were not released. Police are still investigating a motive.
