Two members of the Taliban were killed in Afghanistan’s Baghlan province, just north of Kabul, when the bombs they were making exploded prematurely.
A third was injured during the weekend mishap, said a police spokesman, quoted in the Global Times.
“Three Taliban rebels were busy in making a mine inside a house in Baghlan-e-Markazi district,” said police Chief Ghulam Sakhi Rustaqi in the Global Times report. “The device went off prematurely, killing two on the spot and injuring another.”
Two others in the house were arrested in connection with the bomb-making activity, the police chief said.
The Global Times said Taliban officials have yet to respond to the incident.
