Among its recent announcement to shake things up with an Ed Schultz weekend show, MSNBC revealed Tuesday that it is hiring former Democratic National Committee spokesperson Karen Finney to host a new show on weekends from 4-5 p.m. Eastern.

“Karen’s rich background in both education policy and politics will add a unique point of view to our expanding live weekend programming,” Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC, said in a statement.

Ms. Finney has been an MSNBC political analyst and guest host on the network since 2009.

According to the statement, she has more than 20 years of experience working on four presidential campaigns, the Clinton White House and Hillary Clinton’s first New York Senate race. She was also the first black spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee.

A launch date for Ms. Finney’s new show has not yet been announced.
