The U.S. Department of the Interior has become quite a hit recently with its striking Instagram photos, gaining more than 33,000 followers of the department tasked with “protecting America’s great outdoors.”
The agency’s most recent photo Tuesday shows a moon setting at Glacier National Park in Montana. Its photo posted Monday made the biggest splash however, gaining the most with more than 2,300 likes.
“Today, the #Alaska #Volcano Observatory celebrates 25 years of monitoring and studying Alaska volcanos,” the caption reads. “These efforts have improved global understanding of how volcanos work and how to live safely with volcanic eruptions. Many comments describe the photo as “amazing” and “mind-blowing.”
The Department of the Interior, known as @usinterior, describes itself as “protecting America’s great outdoors and powering our future.” Its account features photos of bison running in Yellowstone National Park, the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River, Wyoming’s National Elk Refuge and Yosemite Valley, among many others.
