Saudi Arabia’s religious police have sent back home several United Arab Emirates men because they’re too handsome and their good looks might tempt women.

The men were in Saudi Arabia for the country’s annual Jenadrivah Heritage and Culture Festival in the capital, Rihadh, Ynet News reported.

The popular event attracts visitors from all over the world — but three in particular grabbed the attention of Saudi police. The Mutaween, as they’re called, ordered the men to leave the country, Ynet said. And they even ordered festival officials to put a rush order on their departure plans.

“I do not know with whom the sources that requested their deportation are associated, but we put the men on a flight out of concern for problems that might arise,” said one festival organizer, quoted by Ynet.

Critics took to social networking sites in droves, Ynet reported. Some couldn’t believe the deportation occurred; others called for the religious police to stop patrolling at the festival.
