A spokesman for the Pakistani Taliban said the group is not responsible for the bombing attacks at the Boston Marathon that killed at least three and injured more than 140.
Ahsanullah Ahsan made the remarks in a telephone call with The Associated Press on Tuesday.
The Taliban in Pakistan has focused on attacks against its own government, as retribution for cooperation and alliance with the United States. But the group has also threatened the United States, AP said. In 2010, Pakistani Taliban members took responsibility for the failed car bombing at Times Square in New York.
Faisal Shahzad, the attacker in that incident, said he had obtained training from the Pakistani Taliban in a tribal area of the country, AP reported.
