President Obama received updates overnight on the investigation into the explosions at the Boston marathon, the White House said Tuesday morning.
Lisa Monaco, the president’s assistant for homeland security and counterterrorism, gave Mr. Obama updates about the ongoing response efforts to the blasts, which killed three persons and injured more than 130.
“The president made clear that he expects to be kept up to date on any developments and directed his team to make sure that all federal resources that can support these efforts, including the investigation being led by the FBI, be made available,” the White House said in a statement.
Mr. Obama will receive another update Tuesday morning with FBI Director Robert Mueller and other senior advisers.
On Monday, Mr. Obama denounced the explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon and vowed to find out who is responsible and bring them to justice.
“We still do not know who did this and why,” he said in a prime-time statement from the White House Brady Press Briefing Room on Monday evening. “But make no mistake, we will get to the bottom of this. We will find out who did this; we’ll find out why they did this.”

Any individuals or groups responsible for the “senseless” bombing, will “feel the full weight of justice,” he added.
