A former justice of the peace was arrested on Monday and charged with making a terrorist threat in the case of the killings of two Texas prosecutors.

The story was still developing, but a Fox News reporter said Monday morning that “pieces of the puzzle are now starting to fit together. … We’re talking about possible murder charges to be filed.”

Eric Williams, 46, a former justice of the peace, was arrested, United Press International reported. He’s believed to have been involved in the deaths of Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland, 63; his wife, Cynthia, 65; and an assistant district attorney, Mark Hasse, 57.

The husband and wife were discovered dead at their home on March 30. Hasse was shot and killed in a parking lot near a county courthouse in January.

Mr. Williams was given a $3 million bond, UPI said. His attorney said he “vigorously asserts his innocence and denies any involvement,” UPI reported.

UPI also said that Mike McLelland and Hasse prosecuted Mr. Williams a year ago for stealing computer equipment from a county office. He was fined, given probation and had his law license yanked.
